Guerrilla graffiti artist Banksy is believed to be behind a new mural which recently appeared on a wall in Cheltenham, England near the headquarters of the Government’s intelligence agency, GCHQ. The artwork depicts three men dressed as 1950s spies in trademark trenchcoats and sunglasses spying on various phone conversations. The new mural comes in the wake of the storm over surveillance and the NSA revealed by whistleblower Edward Snowden.

The House reflecting Ripples, Tsukubamirai, Japan by Kichi Architectural Design | via

The river banks to which the site of the house overlooks is among the prominent spots of Ibargi Prefecture, renowned for their cherry blossoms. In designing the house, I attached great importance to its relationship with the cherry blossoms.

The facade which consists of three white outer walls, is suggestive of triple ripples on the surface of the river. It is a house that enables its residents to live closely with the cherry trees which manifest all kinds of expressions with the changing of the seasons in Japan.

Based on the shape of the site, one that stretches in a narrow strip toward the cherry trees, I I conceived the shape of the house , a U-shaped one, so that every one of its rooms would fully benefit from the light.

artist Amelia Harnas creates dazzling portraits from spilled wine, using embroidery thread to trace and refine her crimson-faced subjects. Like delicate watercolor, the wine has an ethereal texture; the artist admits a certain unpredictability and instability in her unique process. Using wax resist on soft white cotton fabrics to set the images, she cannot determine how long the delicate images will last, and the transient images float like ghosts across the page while thread guides the eye.
